Skywatch Friday

-
The winter in my town means that the sky during the days is either grey or light blue (when the sun is shining). Nothing else. Just these two colours.

Here is the example of the ordinary day sky (taken on Monday):

But the situation changes when the sun rises or sets so the sky is suddenly full of different colours.
On November 17 I was visiting a friend of mine. She gave a birth to a wonderful baby boy so I went there to look at him, to cradle him a lot, and to admire him even more. By the way, I was so enamoured that I forgot to take photos.
I hadn´t remembered my camera until I was waiting for the bus home after the visit. I was standing at the bus stop and watching the most violet sunset I have ever seen. I tried to take some photos, but it was a bit dark already so just some of them is good. And here they are:

I don't think I've ever seen a sky quite that color!
Nice images.
The last ones are indeed quite a contrast to your first photo.

Beautiful hues of purple. I love them.

Last week, I kept trying to leave a comment and it wouldn't let me.

Appears to be a dreary there as it is here.

Namnet: The skies looked like they were cloudy all week.

The last three photos are fabulous! You can frame them.
It's interesting to hear how you cope with the grey skies. I imagine it can get on your nerves when the sky is overcast for long periods of time. I remember when it was like that when I lived in the midwest years ago. Do you have a river to visit so you can see some movement?

Lovely - I can totally relate to the nondescript skies of winter. But yours cooperated nicely with the bottom shots. Very nice.

I really think you can only get things that violet when you have the grey days. It's a trade-off!

It looks cold and wintry and makes me want to curl up by a fire. It reminds me of my childhood years!

Terrific post!

I am really sorry for your troubles with leaving a comment last time (and I appreciate that you kept trying). I do not understand why it was so. And I hope it will never happen again.

to PJ,
the winter weather could be very boring and make me gloomy sometimes.
And yes, we have a river. It is very close to our house and I walk along its banks very often. People feed ducks and swans there and it is a very nice walk and way to relax. I must post some photos here.
